I briefly studied applied computer science at George Mason University, which is sort of like computer science, but with more of a focus on software engineering. I am a member of MIT SIPB, and was a TA for a time.
In my free time I'm usually volunteering for Ubuntu and Debian working on distribution development and packaging, or helping out with One Laptop per Child or Sugar Labs. I'm also an administrator on the English Wikipedia, and served on its Arbitration Committee.
On occasion, I blog about what I'm doing.
